The first thing that been introduced to us in the first ICT for Science class is SMART Board which is Interactive White Board (IWB). We were told that we will use it for the entire semester and indeed we were. As the name itself is interactive, SMART Board is truly interactive and also collaborative.
From my point of view, IWB is the integration of conventional and current method of using board in class. Similar to conventional blackboard, the teacher can write and erase things on the board. At the same moment, it practice the current method too which is Power Point Presentation but much more convenient because teacher can touch the IWB screen directly. This made easier because teacher not necessarily be near the computer at all the time.
Even I already use IWB for the entire semester, there are still a lot to be discovered. It has many features that provide annotations over standard Microsoft Windows application. It will be very meaningful if we can apply the usage of IWB in schools. Students might learn more with higher interest.
